Networking for lawyers is:

  • being interested in other people and
  • being interesting about yourself.

It may take eight to ten different contacts with someone become they become a client, a referrer or an intermediary.  Therefore, you cannot go to a “networking event”, tell people how good you are as a lawyer and how good your law firm is and then expect to win work immediately, as a result.
